Sherman Jarrett

Sherman Jarrett, 81, of the Timberline Community, Canaan Valley, West Virginia passed away peacefully at his home May 5, 2020. He was in good health and death was unexpected. He was born October 10, 1938 in Coalburg, West Virginia, a son of the late Tommie Jarrett and Biddie Christy Jarrett.

He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Jean Hite Jarrett, whom he married on October 22, 1976. He is also survived by one daughter, Parris Ann Jarrett, three grandchildren, Lauren Farrell, Brittany and Sierra Jarrett, two great-grandchildren, James and Evan, one sister, Ernie Opal Coleman,

He was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters, one son, Shawn Jarrett, one grandchild, Brandi Milton

Mr. Jarrett served in the United States Navy for four years and toured in England; he was a radio specialist. He worked for Verizon Communications. He served on the Cortland Acres Board of Directors and the Cortland Foundation, a member of Timberline Association and a member of the Canaan Valley Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, hiking, bird watching, and anything outdoors. He loved helping fish and wildlife in any way that he could.
