Mary Jane Hanline

Mary Jane Hanline, age 100, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 17, 2020 in Ravenna, OH. She was born April 29, 1920 in Terra Alta, WV; a daughter to the late Clayton Ellsworth and Lydia (Shahan) Harsh.

In addition to her parents, on August 8, 2010, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, Lorain Hanline; whom she married on September 29, 1937. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Stanley, Melvin and Oran Harsh.

She is survived by one son, Norman L. Hanline and wife Janice, Oakland, MD, three sisters, Cleota Lawson, Brimfield, OH, Shirley Doolittle, Randolph, OH, and Helen Lipscomb, Aurora, WV, four grandchildren, N. Ray Hanline and partner Kim, Oakland, MD, Aimee Friend and husband Jeff, Oakland, MD, Carl Hanline and wife Stephanie, Monrovia, MD, and Patrick Hanline and wife Heather, Oakland, MD, nine great-grandchildren, Tim Hanline, Laryn Newcomb and husband Aaron, Travis Friend and wife Michelle, Ashley Hanline, Evan Friend, Zach Hanline, Brandon Hanline, Madi and Alex Hanline, four great-great-grandchildren, Henry Newcomb, Keegan Friend, Cohen Newcomb, and Logan Hanline, one special niece and caregiver, Sheila Klusty, one special friend, Ruby Moats, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hanline worked for many years as a cafeteria cook at Aurora High School. In her early years, she was a knitter and then taught herself how to sew. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, puzzle boards, and crafts of all kinds. She had a green thumb when it came to African Violets. She was active in several organizations and was a member of Stemple Ridge Church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 9:30 am – 10:30 am at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, Davis, WV. Funeral services and interment will be private.
