Johnie "JD" Nash

Johnie Darrel "JD" Nash, 85, of Davis, WV, and Aubrey, TX, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on January 26, 2022. Born on December 14, 1936, in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Blanchard and Roma (Dunfee) Nash.

Mr. Nash proudly served in the United States Army during the Cuban Crisis. He worked for and retired from INCO in Huntington, WV, where he worked as an electrician. JD enjoyed woodworking, antiques and attending auctions. He faithfully attended a local church wherever life took him, locally he attended Buena Chapel. He was very proud of his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. JD was larger than life in stature and personality.


Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 58 years, Mary Ruth Nash, whom he married on June 1, 1963. Also surviving is a son, Timothy Nash and wife Lisa of Cleveland, GA; a daughter, Aimi Dalness and husband Greg of Prosper, TX; four grandchildren, Zachary and Katie Nash, Madelyn and Katelyn Dalness; a sister, Doris Rife of Inverness, FL along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Iris Prager.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Cortland Cemetery (Mt. Hebron Cemetery) with Minister Richard "Dick" Hepler officiating.
