Beatrice Marie Pennington Johnston, age 94, of Canaan Valley, WV passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Elkins under the care of WV Caring. She was born on June 29, 1926 in Dry Fork, a daughter of the late Gordon Dayton Pennington and Clemence Virginia (Roy) Pennington.
On January 26, 1946 she married Charles “Everett” Johnston who preceded her in death on January 12, 2013.
She is survived by three daughters: Reva Jean Harman and husband Joe of Canaan Valley, WV, Nettie Louise Johnston of Canaan Valley, WV, and Faith Elizabeth Mininger and husband John of Hickory, NC, four grandchildren: Chad Wesley Harman of Harman, WV, Heather Jo Brown and husband Keith of Valley Head, WV, Lynne Michelle Bledsoe and husband Keith of Lenoir City, TN, Aaron David Mininger and wife Meredith of Wilmington, NC, four great-grandchildren: Wesley Harman, Addison Brown, Marcus Bledsoe and Bethany Bledsoe, one sister, Janice Lee Jones and husband Raymond of Richwood, OH, two brothers, George Henry Pennington and wife Charlotte of Harman, WV, and Ronald Keith Pennington and wife Carol of Seneca Rocks, WV, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Beatrice in death, in addition to her parents and husband, are two sisters, Susan Fay Helmick and Ruby Helen Arbogast, one brother Ezra Carl Pennington and infant brother John David Pennington.
Beatrice was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting and watching Judge Judy. She was a member of the Riverside Mennonite Church and also attended the Harman Church of the Brethren.

Friends will be received at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, Saturday, December 12, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00pm with Rev. John Moyers officiating. Interment will follow in the Buena Cemetery, Canaan Valley, WV. Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be of service to the Johnston family at this time.
